Archives for the month of: November, 2014

Two bearded barbets appeared today, sitting together on a tree right in front of my house. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen them up here on the mountain.

Emmanuel hasn’t made any progress on the Kabiye Wikipedia this month because we had to send his computer down to Lomé for a new screen. Faustin’s been having major problems with his too. That’s not surprising – it was very second hand even when he bought it. I’m very aware that we’re working with two of our three computers on the brink. It’s only a matter of time before they give up the ghost. If anyone would like to contribute to the purchase of two new ones, please be in touch!

We’re well into November now, and I just got caught in a massive rain storm, even though the dry season is supposed to have started. The whole rainy season this year was very late, and I can’t remember a rainy season with fewer mosquitoes. Bliss. Still, Faustin, Mandahewa and Pandja have all been on malaria treatments at different times.
